You went the Extra Mile!
Devils Dyke - Chanctonbury Ring - Cissbury Ring - 27 miles
Known as 'The Tough One', with 27 miles of mixed terrain and climbs of 3450 feet.
Congratulations to everyone who took part.
"Two thirds of May's normal rainfall fell on the 1st and 2nd" - We know, most of it fell on the marathon course!
Despite the atrocious conditions over 480 runners and walkers battled through the wind and rain to complete the Three Forts Marathon.
Quick times must have been difficult in these conditions but John Dewey gave us a new course record in the Half Marathon of 1:22:49. Great running John!
A special mention to Julie Wing. This was her 209th marathon.
Results and pictures now on-line.
PS: See how far one competitor goes to raise money for the RNLI. justgiving
Next year's event is on Sunday May 1st, 2011.
We look forward to seeing you. Put it in your diary!
In 2011 we shall be supporting Ferring Country Centre. Details to follow.
